A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson.
FILL ME.
Directions: Fill out the blank spaces by referring to the clues and
guessing the word/s being defined.
B. Establishing a purpose for the
lesson.
FACT CHECK.
Directions: Read the sentences. Put a check (√ ) on the space
before the number if you think that the sentence is true about
research. Put a cross (X) if you think that it is not.
C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson.
MIND MAP
Directions: Draw a mind map about your insights or knowledge
in doing research. Follow the instruction.
1. Start at the center of a long bond paper turned sideways. (You
have the freedom to spread out in all directions and to express it
more freely and naturally.)
2. Use colors throughout. (Colors add extra vibrancy and life to
your mind map.)
3. Use an image or picture for your central idea.
4. Connect your main branches to the central image and connect
your second-and third-level branches to the first and second
levels. (Link two to three things/ideas together. If you connect
the branches, you will understand and remember a lot more
easily.)
5. Make your branches curved rather than straight-lined.
6. Use one key word per line.
7. Use images throughout. (Image is also worth a thousand
words.)
Your output will be assessed using the rubrics.
Using the prepared power point presentation discuss the
following:
 Definition of Research
YOUR VOCABULARY BUILDER
As you work on this lesson you will encounter unfamiliar words.
Look for the meaning of those words and add it to your
vocabulary bank. In the future, you can use these words in your
oral and written communication.
YOUR READINESS CHECK
Let’s Warm-Up
Directions: Read the sentences. Put a check (√ ) on the space
before the number if you think that the sentence is correct. Put a
cross (X) if you think that it is not.
YOUR INITIAL TASK
A. Directions: Look at the illustration. Can you tell which
situation follows the qualitative and which one falls under the
quantitative approach? And why.
IV. PROCEDURES
D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills #1.
Mind Your Ethics
Directions: Read and analyze the article below and then answer
the guide questions that follow. Write your answers on a one
whole sheet of paper.
Guided Questions:
1. Based on the Article, how will you define ethics in
research?
2. Are the Tuskegee syphilis study and diethylstilbestrol
study on pregnant women unethical? Why?
3. If you where part of the research teams who conducted
the research studies, what do you do to correct the
unethical aspect of the experiments?
E. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills # 2.
Using the prepared power point presentation discuss the
following:
 Importance of Research
F. Developing mastery (Leads to
formative assessment).
TASK 1: Check-Up
Directions: Directions: Write TRUE if the statement is correct,
FALSE if it is incorrect. Write your answers on a ½ crosswise.
G. Finding practical/applications of
concepts and skills in daily living.
Task 2: Paint Me a Picture
Directions: On a long bond paper, illustrate concrete situation/s
in your daily activities that show/s the importance of research.
Processing Question:
What is research all about?
Why is research important in different studies?
YOUR FINAL TASK
Solving World Problem:
Directions: Despite health efforts, significant gaps and
challenges exist while the world faces this COVID-19 global
pandemic. What do you think could be the role of research in
solving this problem? On a one whole sheet of paper, list down
five possible solutions that research can do for us to overcome
this health crisis.
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the lesson.
I. Evaluating Learning.
Provide Additional Discussion on the Characteristics of Research
and Characteristics of the Researcher.
Discussion: To come up with good research, a good research
design is needed. The type of research would depend on the
purpose of writing the research. There are two broad categories
of research methodology: qualitative and quantitative research.
YOUR DISCOVERY TASKS
Task 1: Check-Up
Directions: Put an “X” on the space before each statement that
describes plagiarism. Write your answers on a ½ sheet of paper.
Task 2: 7 Steps
Directions: Identify the stage/step in the research process of the
given scenario. Choose your answers below. Write your answers

Ask the student to generalize the topic being discussed.
ASSESSMENT
I. Fact Check
Directions: Identify what characteristic of research is being
described in each item. Write the letter opposite each number.
II: Can You Help?
Directions: List down reasons that drive people to commit
research misconduct. Opposite the reason suggest ways on how
to prevent it.
III. QL & QN
Directions: Read the following examples and decide whether the
statement can be studied using Quantitative or Qualitative
research. Write QN for Quantitative and QL for Qualitative.
Write your answers on your notebook.
J. Additional activities for application or
remediation.
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of leaners who earned 80%
of the formative assessment.
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities to remediation.
C. Did the remedial lesson work?
No. of leaners who have caught up
with the lesson.
D. No, of learners who continue to
require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
