Week 3 Analysing Visual Texts Find an example of a visual text which you think is effective. Think of activities, brands and products which you like. Be ready to explain why it is effective. An effective text, whether visual or not, will engage a specific audience and achieve a specific purpose. An essay on literary theory might engage an audience of largely older literary academics and it might inform them about a new theory in their field. An advertisement for a toy might engage an audience of 36 year olds and persuade their parents to buy the product for them.
