Caramelize pork and egg is a famous dish in both Cambodia and Vietnam. The ingredient
required to complete can the planted in the United States, but the businessmen decided to
import from oversea for a cheaper price with the same interest. So let’s see how the
ingredients moved across the globe and made it to the plate. Pork and egg are the
ingredients that can the found in the U.S, there are local farms in every state so it’s not hard
for us to get them. Lowa and Ohio are the biggest egg producers and North Carolina is the
biggest pork producer in America. My family often uses coconut can from Puerto Rico to
make the meal, we can also use fresh coconut imported from Thailand. Indonesia is also a
coconut seller in America. Shandong, China produces 70% of ginger and distributes them all
around the world. Gansu produces one of the largest onions in China. We buy chilly from
Mexico, Central-east Mexico gave birth to the domesticated chili pepper. California plants
the most garlic in America. The reason why America buy most of the ingredient from
overseas is because of cheaper labor. Most of the imported goods stop in California for
safety checks. It takes so many procedures to gather all the ingredients to make caramelize
pork and eggs, and yet this meal is unhealthy to the world because it left too many carbon
footprint.
