REQUISITION NOTES
1. GENERAL
1.1. Vendor shall be responsible for the engineering and supply of the entire unit, consisting compressor, base plate,
coupling, electric motor and etc
1.2. The Manufacturer shall be responsible for the design and engineering, the total mechanical/aero-dynamic
performance, and the guarantee of the entire compressor unit.This includes the compressor, driver, power
transmission equipment and all auxiliary equipment furnished by sub-suppliers. This responsibility shall include
determining critical speeds and performing the lateral rotor dynamic analysis for each major component of the unit
and the torsional analysis for the entire unit, as well as any other analysis specified in the data/requisition sheets.
1.3. The Manufacturer shall have an implemented and effective quality system in accordance with ISO 9001.
1.4. The Manufacturer shall be responsible for co-ordination. This shall include the following as a minimum:
• Obtaining information required for fulfilling his obligations;
• Communicating necessary data, specifications and other documents to subsuppliers;
• Negotiating interfaces with his sub-suppliers;
• Standardizing all components within the compressor train, its auxiliaries and its utility requirements (such as oil
type/grade etc.).
1.5. All supplied materials shall be new, of best quality and proven design for the specified design conditions and suitable
for operation under plant ambient conditions which is specified in ambient and site condition & utility data.
1.6. If any discrepancy is found during procuring design and fabrication stages, vendor shall immediately inform the
purchaser and shall obtain necessary clarification / approval before proceeding with the job any further.
1.7. Material and corrosion allowances shall be considered for a minimum of 20 years safe operation.
1.8. Vendor shall fill out all equipment data sheets and submit for purchaser review and comments during purchase
stage.
1.9. Vendor shall include in the bid the lists of the suggested pre-commissioning and commissioning spare parts and the
suggested two years operations spare parts, according to his experience. These spare parts shall be quoted as
separated items in the bid. Vendor shall supply spare parts based on agreed lists.
1.10. Vendor shall fill letter of conformity, bid technical check list, spare part forms (for start-up and two years). All formats
are included in the Attachments.
1.11. All drawings and documents shall be submitted as per attached RFD form.
1.12. All material shall be packed suitably to avoid damages during shipment and storage in the job site.
1.13. Vendor shall supply a complete set of all special tools that are required for installation and maintenance. The tools
are to be supplied in a toolbox.
1.14. Vendor shall provide all equipment necessary for the smooth and safe operation of its proposed system.
1.15. Vendor shall supply a list of sub-vendors proposed for each component indicating sub-vendor's model No., type,
etc., along with their catalogues, drawings etc. Vendor is not permitted to substitute any other manufacturer or model
unless it is accepted by purchaser.
1.16. The name plate of all equipment shall be engraved on stainless steel plate and to be fixed on the body. The name
plate shall contains the following information:

1.17. The nameplate shall bear the operating instructions in Farsi and English language, along with the standard figures
(pictures).
1.18. Material selection shall be made based on the referenced specifications as per applicable codes and standards.
1.19. It is vendor responsibility to design its package as required to permit safe and orderly start-up, shutdown and
operation
2. SPECIFIC FOR COMPRESSOR
2.1. Compressor and all its auxiliary equipment shall be suitable for outdoor installation, exposed to dusty atmosphere.
2.2. Only equipment that has proved its reliability shall be included in the selected compressor unit. In this respect,
proven equipment is defined as equipment of which at least 3 units of similar type, size and specific loading have
together accumulated a minimum of 24,000 h of comparable satisfactory service. In this respect, the Manufacturer
shall provide the necessary evidence in his proposal including an end users list.
2.3. The compressor shall be designed for a minimum operating period of 12 years between required major overhaul
inspections.
2.4. Vendor shall furnish any special tools required for installation and / or maintenance of the compressor
2.5. All accessories (Motor, Base plate, Coupling, etc.)Shall be supplied by compressor supplier.
2.6. Provide 8 copies of instruction, maintenance and spare parts list in English.
2.7. Supplier shall provide spare parts for 2 years of continuous operation.
2.8. Compressor material shall be indicated in equivalent to ASTM specification.
2.9. Inlet and outlet connections shall be flanged and shall be suitable for the working pressure of the casing.
2.10. All casing connections, except for water and lube oil shall be flanged and have the same ASA rating as the major
casing nozzles. Connections smaller than 1 inch IPS shall not be furnished .each casing drain shall be furnished
with valve and all drains manifold to a single flanged outlet connection, venting to the flare via a trap shall be
provided for the manifold.
2.11. All lube and seal oil piping and fittings shall be type 304T or 316 L stainless steel which should have 12% chrome
trim. Carbon steel slip-on flanges may be used. Flange gaskets shall be spiral wound stainless steel with asbestos
fill.
2.12. Connections 1” IPS and larger shall be flanged at valves and equipment. For butt welded piping vendor shall select
a welding method which produces 100% penetration and a smooth, crack – free joint on the pipe interior.
2.13. Drain openings shall be 1½” IPS minimum.
2.14. Detailed welding procedure shall be proposed by Vendor and obtain purchaser’s approval of the method prior to
proceeding with fabrication. Oil drain lines shall be 1½” IPS minimum. All stainless steel piping for the lube and seal
oil system shall be flushed clean with solvent following fabrication. All control valves shall be flanged and provided
with a by-pass valve and a ¾” bleed valve. Shut –off valves shall be supplied on each side of the control valve.
2.15. The Manufacturer shall base its performance calculations on the gas composition as stated in the data/requisition
sheets.
2.16. Centrifugal compressor shafts shall be made only of a single piece of forged and heat-treated steel. The shaft shall
be forged as close as possible to the final dimensions and then suitably machined. Shafts shall not be made from
hot rolled bar stock.

2.17. Impellers may be closed, consisting of a hub, blades, and a cover; or semi-open, consisting of a hub and blades.
Impellers shall be of welded, brazed, milled or electro-eroded construction.
2.18. Coupling shall be fail safe, stainless steel multi-disk, flexible coupling.
2.19. Shaft sleeve are required on compressor, with standard mechanical seal Installation.
2.20. Casings shall be cast steel, unless otherwise noted on compressor data sheet.
2.21. Non- pressurized horizontally split bearing housings shall be furnished separate from the casing.
2.22. Shaft seals shall be designed to operate under regeneration conditions, as specified, without modification. They
shall also be designed so as to prevent gas blew out in case of seal failure.
2.23. Specially designed individual drain connections to the inner casing of a radially split barrel compressor may be
threaded into the inner casing in order to facilitate disassembly of the compressor. The outer casing connections
SHALL be welded.
2.24. The casing shall be supported from the base plate by vertical supports.
2.25. Complete radial and thrust bearing assemblies shall be designed and manufactured by a single source.
2.26. Radial bearings shall have two metal temperature sensors within the expected load zone. The load-bearing pad
and one adjacent pad shall have bearing-metal temperature sensors. The thrust capability of the bearing with
reverse rotation shall be stated in the proposal.
2.27. The Manufacturer’s primary offering shall be direct lubricated low oil consumption bearings. As an alternative, the
Manufacturer may offer its standard flooded bearing design. In the proposal, the Manufacturer shall state the power
demand difference between the two thrust bearing designs, if applicable.
2.28. Thrust bearings shall have five metal temperature sensors, three on the active side and two on the inactive side.
Metal temperature sensors shall be located in the highest loaded part of the pad.
2.29. Each compressor/driver unit shall be provided with the following:
• Two radial vibration displacement type probes at each radial bearing, located at an angle of 90 degrees to one another;
• Three axial position displacement probes at each thrust bearing;
• A key phase; if gearbox transmission is used. Key phases for both high and low speed shafts shall be installed
2.30. The Manufacturer shall supply a list of alarms and/or shutdowns for the entire compressor train. The recommended
set-points for all these alarms and/or shutdowns shall be included.
The list shall include, but not be limited to:
• Radial bearing vibrations
• Radial and axial bearing temperatures
• Axial displacement of the rotor(s)
• Lube and control oil system parameters
• Oil seal or dry gas seal systems
• Operational process gas conditions limitations
2.31. Diaphragms shall be horizontally split. Diaphragm cooling is not acceptable.
2.32. Lubrication, shaft-sealing and control oil systems and auxiliaries shall comply with DEP 31.29.60.32-Gen.
2.33. Non-lubricated spacer type couplings shall be used. Coupling hubs shall be hydraulically

2.35. The compressor and /or driver vendor shall furnish satisfactory verification of critical speed calculations including all
driver train components prior to submittal of certified composite outline drawing. Both torsional and lateral vibration
analysis are the complete responsibility of the compressor vendor. the vendor shall furnish a copy of this analysis
and related data for review.

2.36. Lube oil and systems shall be as per NIOC specification SP-46-7 “specification for lubrication, shaft sealing and
control oil systems for special purpose applications”.
2.37. Basic balancing modification which will have to be repeated with the standard spare rotor elements shall be
recorded and brought to the purchaser’s attention.
2.38. Spare rotor shall have its own half coupling mounted and balanced. a mechanical run test of the spare rotor
ordered with the machine shall be performed.
2.39. For compressor and auxiliary rotating equipment, the double amplitude vibration measured during shop running
test shall not exceed the valves listed below. Vibrations shall be measured on the shaft adjacent to the bearing
housing at each end of the shaft. Shaft run out may be deducted from measured vibration.

2.41. a howler actuated by all alarms and including test and silencing switch shall be provided by separate purchase on
the main control board . a howler should also be supplied by the vendor on the local control panel with sufficient
audibility against background noise. Howler shall come into operation for any emergency Condition, even if it has
been silenced for another.
2.42. Vendor shall complete the facsimile of the API lube system included with these specifications. Notes may be
added to clarify, if necessary. All instruments shall be tagged with the identifying numbers shown on these
drawings.
2.43. Free standing local control panel mounted on the compressor platform shall be supplied by the vendor completely
enclosed and sealed, suitable for pressurizing to keep out dust. The panel shall include all the applicable items
listed together with alarm lights suitably screened to be easily visible in bright sunlight, and other process
instruments as required. Access for easy maintenance to this panel shall be provided, and location of the panel
shall be so as to facilitate easy control of the equipment. Consideration may also be given to the installation of a
separate ground mounted panel to cover auxiliary equipment mounted on the console if easier operation would
result. Alarm module shall be hermetically sealed and preferably be of the plug-in type.
2.44. The annunciator panel shall be provided with “first out” alarm indication. (Permanent record of first causes of alarm
or shut down). Thermometers shall also be mounted in the oil reservoirs and seal oil lines. All thermometers shall
be accessible for removal during operation. Local temperature indicators shall also be provided on main bearing
housings or each bearing lube oil return line.
2.45. The equipment shall be shipped in the fewest possible number of base plate sections.
2.46. Separately shipped parts and spare parts shall be prepared and packaged per Manufacturer standard preparation
methods. Identification tags shall be attached to each part as well as to the outside of each box. Spare parts shall
be crated separately from parts needed for initial installation.
2.47. The Manufacturer shall include in the proposal as separate items the following:
• A spare rotor for each compressor casing;
• Spare couplings for all applied main couplings;
• Spare shaft seal cartridges for each compressor casing;
• Spare bearings (radial and thrust) for each compressor casing, the gearbox (if applicable), and the driver;

• A recommended spare parts list. This list shall include, but not be necessarily limited to, consumable and wearing parts
such as: labyrinths and/or impeller seals, gaskets and O-rings, filter cartridges for oil, seal gas, and buffer gas.
2.48.
ELECTRICAL :
Motor for auxiliary equipment shall be explosion proof according to IEC & the area classification and conform to NIOC
specification SP-60-2.

All electrical components and installations SHALL [PS] be suitable for the area classification,
gas grouping, and
temperature classes specified by the Principal on the data/requisition sheets.

3- The electric motors shall be selected, sized and supplied as per the project specification “Three Phase Squirrel
Cage Induction Electric Motors” including IPS M-EL-132.
4- Vendor shall retain full responsibility for motor sizing, mounting and alignment and ensure compatibility with driven
equipment. all inspection testing and data requirement , etc. . Shall be the responsibility of the vendor, who shall
ensure that the motor sub vendors meet all requirements as specified.
5-
All motors shall be suitably sized so as to deliver required output under frequency variations of -5% , +2% of
nominal value coincidental with voltage variation of ± 5% of the nominal value .
6-
Motor terminal box shall be suitable for size and numbers of purchaser’s cables (the cable entries shall be metric
type).
7-
Supply of cable glands which are mounted on motors terminal boxes are excluded from vendor’s scope.
8-
All electric motors shall be suitable for classified areas, EExe ll T3 with certificate for 45 C ambient temperature
from one of the cenelec members .

11- The electro motor data sheets attached to IPS-M-EL-132(2) shall be completely filled –out for each motor and
submitted to purchaser.
12- Each skid shall be provided with at Least two earthling points and one on right hand side of motor enclosure for
connecting to earth grid. Earth continuity of all metallic parts of skid shall be guaranteed to be done by vendor.
13- Cable gland entries shall be Iso metric with 1.5mm pitch and minimum thread length of 15mm. Vendor will be
informed of number and size of entries during detail engineering stage. However vendor shall follow the size and
numbers calculated by purchaser.
14- The insulation class of motors shall be "F" and their temperature rise shall be limited to class "B" for 450C ambient
temperature.
15- The winding of Motors shall be in " STAR " connected .
16- Drawing and documents of Motors shall be furnished in English .
3. DOCUMENTATION

Compressor supplier shall prepare and submit to Shiraz Oil Refining Co. The following documents:
8 Technical manual including technical data, drawing and maintenance catalogue spare parts list, two copies of the final
approved drawings.
3.1. Vendor shall submit design calculations for SORC approval prior to fabrication. Computer calculations print out to
be submitted. Intermediate results, coefficients, references, etc. must be adequately stated.
3.2. The Vendor shall carry responsibility for the accuracy of the Vendor's documents furnished to SORC/Purchaser.
3.3. In the event that any defect in the Vendor's documents result in rework in construction and/or erection works which
are performed or to be performed by SORC /Purchaser, the additional cost associated with such correction shall be
borne by the Vendor.
4. INSPECTIONS AND TESTS
4.1. The package supplier shall execute, at its own resource and expense, all the tests required by the referenced
standards, specifications.
4.2.
4.3. All instruments shall be calibrated as indicated in the relevant specifications. Loop test shall be carried out for each
loop, ensuring that correct actions are obtained. All alarm and shutdown switches shall be calibrated to the project
designed set points. Protection and monitoring systems shall be functionally tested including the primary device
and final control element actuation.
4.4. Before commencement of the functional and FAT tests it will be necessary to ensure that all the contract
documentation is present and all relevant vendor drawings are approved by Purchaser as “Final Drawings”.
4.5. During the FAT, the following tests shall be carried out as a minimum:
- Verifying that all parts/components specified are present
- Check that all instruments/equipment is properly identified with adequate tag plates

- Check that all documents have been supplied and are consistent with the instruments under test
- Dimensions checked as per relevant drawings
- Performance Test as per the FAT requirements
4.6. FAT shall be conducted in accordance with a time-table that will be agreed between control system Vendor and
Purchaser. Unscheduled Time shall be available during the FAT in order to permit the solving of any problem
without affecting overall test duration.
4.7. In the event of a failure of a device under test, due to hardware fault, a substitute device shall be tested. If the faulty
item can be repaired, it will be demonstrated later in the FAT. A failure rate which exceeds 5% of the quantity of the
unit-type will require all units of that type to be tested. However, this requirement will not apply to consoles or any
other devices that make up less than 20 units of the extent of supply.
4.8. The SAT plan and procedure shall be used as the basis for monitoring the performance of the SAT and for
determining satisfactory completion of the SAT. The SAT plan and procedure may be essentially a copy of the FAT
pan and procedure, the only difference is that the factory un-testable items shall be tested and the SAT plan and
procedures shall address the testing of these items.
4.9. Prior to the planned start-up, the Operational Availability Test (OAT) shall be conducted upon the completion of the
SAT and the connection of all field instruments to the system.
4.10. The OAT shall be performed to demonstrate the reliability of the system once it is in operation at the work site. A
full functional test of the system will live external devices and other systems shall be carried out. The full
requirement of the test will be defined in the “Site Acceptance test Procedure”.
5. GUARANTEE
Vendor shall guarantee that equipment is free from fault in design, workmanship and material to fulfill satisfactorily the
operating conditions specified.
Should any defect in design, material, workmanship or operating characteristics developed after 12 months of operation or
after 24 months following shipment from supplier’s plant, whichever occurs later, vendor guarantees to make all necessary
or desirable alterations, repairs and replacements free of charge.
If the defect or failure to function cannot be corrected, vendor guarantees to replace promptly, free of charge, said
equipment or to remove the equipment and refund the full purchase price.
