Daniel Wilkins Biol 251.001 4/16/23 Outdoor Activity For my outdoor activity, I chose Audubon State Park in Henderson, KY. This 575 acre park opened 1934 and was added to NRHP in 1988. Being fairly local and in the same biome, humid subtropical, as Evansville, a lot of the flora and fauna are similar. It was quite exciting to be honest as I actually saw a beaver in the wild, being from the UK we only really see them on the internet and wildlife shows, so seeing them up close was pretty great. There were plenty of birds chirping around, but unfortunately I am not eagleeyed enough to identify any of them as I was walking around the mostly tree covered path. I definitely plan on returning to Audubon once my children get a little older, the trail I took was a little too long for my children as they are right now, but I certainly enjoyed it on my own. It is a fantastic place to just wander and wonder about things. I definitely found myself lost in thought and having to re-find my path several times purely because I didn’t have the distractions I normally do at home or in class.
