Project Title: Barcelona Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament 2022

Rationale
Pursuant to Chapter VIII, Section 426 paragraph b of R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local
Government Code of 1991, the Sangguniang Kabataan shall initiate programs designed to enhance the
social, political, economic, cultural, intellectual, moral, spiritual, and physical development of the members.
Relative thereto, the Municipal Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, in coordination with the
Municipal Government of Barcelona, Sorsogon, intends to hold a sports competition through the Barcelona
Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament 2022.
Objectives
1. To enable the selected players representing Barangay Poblacion Sur to participate in the
BARCELONA MAYOR’S CUP BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2022;
2. To abide by the Grand House Rules of the BARCELONA MAYOR’S CUP BASKETBALL
TOURNAMENT 2022 in wearing proper attire throughout the game;
3. To promote physical fitness and establish camaraderie and sportsmanship among the youth of
Barcelona.
Brief Description of the Project
As per the guidelines of the BARCELONA MAYOR’S CUP BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
2022, there is a need for the teams per barangay to pay a registration fee of P3,000 to secure their slot in
tournament. Moreover, the players that are to participate in the basketball league shall always wear proper
uniform attires throughout the course of the game. Considering that there are three teams from the barangay
who will participate in the said tournament, the proponent is requesting fundings from the budget, allocated
for the SK sports and development to enable the players to join and participate in the undertaking to be held
on June 18, 2022, until July 31, 2022.
Budgetary Requirements:
The budgetary requirements are as follows:
a. Registration Fee for the three (3) teams at Php 3,000/team
b. Uniform for three (3) teams at Php 12,000.00/team
c. Snacks
at 6,000.00 per team for the entire duration of the
Tournament
d. Contingency Fund

The estimated budgetary requirements shall be chargeable against the 10% SK Fund, specifically
the allocation for Sports Development Program for Calendar year 2022.
