Why would you become an entrepreneur? There are many reasons why people would want to be an entrepreneur nowadays. First is the generic, “I want to be my own boss” that everyone hears whenever an entrepreneur gets asked this. It is a genuine answer, especially nowadays where Gen z who are slowly becoming the workforce, they do not like being bossed around or told what to do without some leeway. Meaning that they would not enjoy working under a boss who is usually from the older generation and doesn’t understand the world as it is now. Then we have the fact that the corporate environment as it is now, is not a creative place where employees get to spitball ideas and make new things and have new ideas. For the most part it is “do this and do that”, and you have no say in what gets done, sometimes you can not decide how it gets done. Money money money, that is a big reason for people to become entrepreneurs. As the big boss of a company if you are skilled enough and good enough, you will be able to make money. Lots of it. Yes you will use most of the profit for the business but the portion you get to keep usually is not a small amount in general if the business is successful. John D. Rockefeller He was a philanthropist and industrialist; single handedly founded the Standard Oil Company in the 19th century (1800), which dominated the oil industry as a whole also owning almost all refineries of the time, creating immense wealth at that time. He endowed great amount of money to medical and educational institutions, who till this still achieve great progress, such as the Rockefeller medical institute, now known as Rockefeller University. John was described as a man with great authority and charisma. He knew What to do and when to do it and how to do, so that it there’s less waste and more profits. He was a man with a clear vision. A dream he wanted to achieve, filling him with determination and motivation for whatever obstacle ahead of him. He was a trustworthy and trustful person, According to a business partner, "Rockefeller never fudged statistics or used confusing wording to skew the facts, and he made sure to return debts on time." John D. Rockefeller was a man of strategic decision making paired with persistence. He had multiple plans incase something went wrong, he had a plan for every situation. He practiced Clear, simple and honest communication with everyone so that there are no misunderstandings or harmful intents towards anyone. He was also a humble person despite his success, he listens and cares for his employees needs no matter their job or role. It was said that Rockefeller walked around his company building with a notepad, randomly asking his employees, janitors and whomever was there about problems or inconveniences they had in the company.
