IGCSE GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES
Focussing on skills development rather than memorising facts
Why Global Perspectives?
Do you want to make a difference in the world while
also developing skills, such as teamwork and
research, that top universities and employers want?
Then you should choose IGCSE Global
Perspectives!
IGCSE Global Perspectives overlaps traditional
subjects, supporting student learning in all subjects
and developing extremely transferable skills. So,
you choose the subject in combination with other
subjects such as Geography. There is a focus
especially on research, teamwork, communication,
analysis, evaluation, and reflection. The emphasis is
on developing the ability to think critically about a
range of global issues and understand that for these
ideas there is always more than one point of view!
Discussion is an important skill in this subject, so be
prepared to use your voice during lessons!
Students learn through projects, presentations, and
hands-on activities, as well as more traditional
learning styles, to ensure that all students can
flourish and develop as learners.
What skills will I develop?
One of the great things about IGCSE Global
Perspectives is you get to design your own content.
Are you interested in the science and technology,
social issues, or the economy? No matter what
interests you, Global Perspectives has something
for you. The Cambridge IGCSE course is built
around 24 topics which each encompass a variety
of issues of global importance. These topics offer
you the context to research the issues that most
interest you, develop essential transferable skills,
and form your own opinions.
What is unique about this course?
There is no content to memorise, so you will only be
tested on your analytical, research, collaboration,
and teamwork skills.
How will the course be assessed?
The course assessment is split into 3 sections:
