It can be very helpful to keep several things in mind when writing as well as to apply a certain level of structure to the written process. First thing to keep in mind are the two very foundation stone of good writing. 1. You need to be aware of why you are writing. what is your goal? What exactly is your purpose of writing ? Is it as a promotional tool for your content ... Well , you need to know . 2. You need to be equally aware of for whom you are writing Who is your audience. Once you have these two founding stones , you can start looking into streamlining the process of writing itself. It may be tempting to start typing straight away without knowing how to go about it , if you don't understand the foundation question you need to answer all by your self. The process in fact consist of distinct parts and all are essential in their own way. 1.Planning 2.Drafting 3.Editing You need to pass through these process significantly more streamlined,and even improve your over all result. By keeping the foundation stone and over all principle of writing into account you can save a lot of time and achieve better results. Basic foundation of writing 1. Grammer and spelling:This forms the foundation of a good writing. Writing with proper grammar and spelling communicate is your professionality attempt to details to your readers. It also make your writing easier to understand. 2. Capitalization of words 3 . Punctuation 4. Sentence structure 5. Organise information for your readers 6. Use of headings and sub headings Chapter 2. THE WRITING PROCESS 1.Stepping stone to writing Step i: pre-write, think decide ,make sure you understand it . Step ii: Research (if need be) Step iii: Drafting Step iv: Revising, make it better Step v: Editing and proofreading , make it correct. 2: Use of phrase/clause in your writing. It's important to use phrase/clause when writing because it makes your sentence more complex and create more interest. PHRASE A phrase is a group of words that work together, but it lacks both a subject and a verb. Here are explanations and three examples for different types of phrases: 1. PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE - Meaning: Provides information about location, direction, time, or relationships. - Examples: - In the garden, flowers bloomed. - She sat under the tree. - The cat slept on the bed. 2. NOUN PHRASE - Meaning: A group of words centered around a noun, often functioning as the subject or object. - Examples: - The big, blue sky stretched overhead. - My best friend is coming over. - We visited the museum yesterday. 3. VERB PHRASE - Meaning: Consists of the main verb and auxiliary (helping) verbs, conveying the action or state of being. - Examples: - She is reading a novel. - They have been working all day. - He will complete the project. 4. ADJECTIVE PHRASE - Meaning: Modifies a noun, providing more detail or description. - Example: - The cake was rich and creamy. - The house, tall and imposing, stood on the hill. - We hiked to the top of the mountain, breathless and tired. 5. INFINITIVE PHRASE - Meaning:Consists of an infinitive verb (to + base form) along with its objects or modifiers. - Examples: - She likes to swim in the ocean. - I plan to visit the museum next week. - His goal is to learn a new language. CLAUSE A clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb. There are two main types: independent clauses and dependent clauses. 1. INDEPENDENT CLAUSE - Meaning: Expresses a complete thought and can stand alone as a sentence. - Examples: - She loves to read. - The sun sets in the west. - They laughed at the joke. 2. DEPENDENT CLAUSE - Meaning: Does not express a complete thought and cannot stand alone as a sentence; it depends on an independent clause. - Examples: - Because it was raining, they stayed indoors. - After the movie ended, we went for ice cream. - Since she had no plans, she joined us for dinner. Understanding the distinction between these types of clauses is crucial for constructing clear and meaningful sentences. importance of phrase are : - It helps you pack more information into a sentence without making it too long or confusing. - It helps you express your ideas more clearly. - Helps you avoid repetition. importance of clause are - Allows you to form complete and meaningful sentence. - It allows you to build sentence in a logical and organized way. - Helps us to communicate our ideas clearly and effectively. - Makes writing engaging. 3. USE OF PARALLEL STRUCTURE Parallel structure is a grammatical rule that says that words or sentence should have the same grammertical form . e.i : if you start a list with verb , each items in the list should be verb . If you start a list with noun ,each items in the list should be noun. Example 1: He ran, swam and jumped. 👆👆 All the verbs in the list have the same grammertical form (verb ) Example 2: she traveled by boat, bus and train. Example 3: The garden is full of oranges, grapes and apples. I believe this is clear. Note: parallel structure makes your writing clear and easier to understand. It makes your sentence sound more polished. Another Parallel construction: 👇👇) Instead of saying - I like to swimming and to play tennis. (You can say "I like swimming and playing tennis." It's clear that the second sentence is more concise and grammertically correct. 4. VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT - Try to use new words in you everyday speech. This will help you get comfortable using them when you write. - Keep note of new words you encounter, this helps you learn and remember them. - Pay attention to words similar in meaning. - Challenge your self to learn a certain number of new words every week. 5. USE OF ACTIVE VOICE Active voice is a sentence construction where the subject performs the action. Examples: 1. The cat chased the mouse. 2. The chef prepared a delicious meal. 3. Sarah wrote an interesting book. 4. The sun warms the Earth. 5. The teacher explained the lesson clearly. Chapter 3 EDITING The importance of editing is to improve the over all quality of the writing,so that it's effective and engaging for the readers. TYPES OF EDITING 1. Developmental editing :the goal is to make sure that text is logically organized and flow well. 2. Copy editing: it's done after the text has been structured and organized and it focused on the final details, spelling and punctuation. 3. Proofreading editing : is the final stage of editing the goal is to catch any remaining error in the text. For effective editing - Read your writing out loud to catch any error or awkward phasing - Try to avoid too attached to your writing,be willing to make changes . -. Successfully identifying a niche can provide a competitive advantage by allowing a business to focus its resources and efforts more effectively. As a beginner you need to know your niche. Therefore niching is all about you , it has to do with you alone . Key aspects of a niche for a business person: of 1.Target Audience: Clearly defining the specific group of customers who have unique preferences or requirements that set them apart from the broader market. 2.Specialization: Offering services that are aimed to meet the specific needs of the identified niche. 3.Competitive Advantage: Building a very strong competitive position by becoming an expert/leader in a particular niche, which can aid differentiate the business. 4.Brand Positioning: Developing a brand identity that aligns with the targeted niche audience. 5.Profitability: Niche markets allow for higher pricing due to the specialized nature of the services, potentially leading to increased profitability. 6.Adaptability: Being able to adapt and evolve with changes in the market and the needs of the niche audience to maintain relevance. What is that thing that you can never lack content on or never get exhausted talking about it . 4.Expertise: it's what you're very good at , it's your profession. Chapter 7 TIPS IN DISCOVERING YOUR UNIQUE SELLING POINT - identify your target audience. - understand what sets you apart from your competitors. - use customer feedback and market research to determine your strength. -Experimentation: don't be after to experience different writing styles until you find what resonate best. - create a clear concise statement that communication to determine your unique selling point. - Self-Reflection: Identify your strengths, interests, and values to understand what sets you apart. - Develop a distinctive story telling voice that readers can relate with. - Maintain a consistent tone across your writing to create a recognizable brand. - Identify your strength, interest and value to understand what sets you apart from others. - Unique Experiences: Draw from personal experiences that offer a distinct perspective. Check your previous post that gave you more comment , more likes, just follow the lead. - create a professional portfolio, then showcase your best works. - Engage on social media handles. It's very advisable to share your work on every of your social handles. - Attend events, webinars, join community related to your niche. It helps you connect with your fellow members, gives you opportunity to get new client. -Collaboration. This can help you in a long way. - offer free resources. It could be an ebook, video content etc. - stay consistent. Regularly deliver quality content. Being consistent keeps you in front of your audience. Note: to expand your reach takes time and effort, therefore stay focused and be patient.
