It is the RF part of a distributed base station and can be installed near the antenna. The RRU5502 modulates and demodulates baseband and RF signals, processes data, amplifies power for signals, and supports voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) tests. With the software-defined radio (SDR) technology, the RRU5502 can work in GL, UL, GUL, LM, GLM, or ULM mode through software configuration. The RRU5502 adopts a 4T4R design, which further improves the output power and carrier capacity. The software version of the RRU5502 is SRAN13.1 and is compatible with the N–1 and N–2 versions of MBTS, MBSC, and OSS NEs. Therefore, the RRU5502 can be used with products of SRAN11.1, SRAN12.1, and SRAN13.1 versions. All these three versions include the RRU5502 software components. The RRU5502 used in these versions has no impact on product KPIs. 1.1 Appearance Figure 1-1 shows the appearance of the RRU5502. Its external ports are located at the bottom of the module and in the cabling cavity. Figure 1-2 shows the physical ports on the RRU5502 and Table 1-1 describes these ports. The UMTS receiver sensitivity, as recommended in 3GPP TS 25.104, is measured at the antenna connector assuming that the channel rate reaches 12.2 kbit/s and the BER is lower than or equal to 0.1%. The LTE FDD receiver sensitivity is measured, as recommended in 3GPP TS 36.104, under a 5 MHz bandwidth based on the FRC A1-3 in Annex A.1 (QPSK, R = 1/3, 25 RBs) standard. The LTE NB-IoT receiver sensitivity is measured, as recommended in 3GPP TS 36.104, under a 200 kHz bandwidth and a 15 kHz subcarrier spacing based on the FRC A14-1 in Annex A.14 (π/2 BPSK, R = 1/3, 1 RB) standard. The RRU5502 that works in UMTS, LTE FDD, or multi-standard radio (MSR) mode and operates in the 2100 MHz frequency band complies with the ETSI EN 301 908 V5.2.1 and 3GPP TS 37.104 standards. The RRU5502 that works in LTE FDD mode and operates in the 1800 MHz frequency band complies with the 3GPP TS 36.141 standard. If an RRU5502 is located at an altitude of 3500 to 4500 meters, its power reduces by 1 dB. If an RRU5502 is located at an altitude of 4500 to 6000 meters, its power reduces by 2 dB. The output power per carrier in the following output power tables indicates the supported maximum output power to ensure network performance. When two LTE FDD carriers are configured, it is recommended that the power spectrum density (PSD) be set to the same value for the two carriers. Power spectrum density = Carrier output power/Carrier bandwidth (1.4 MHz and 3 MHz bandwidths are considered as 5 MHz bandwidth in this formula.)
