Introduction to QucsStudio What is QucsStudio? QucsStudio is a free circuit simulator. It is capable of simulating transient, AC, DC, digital, and RF circuits, among other. Where can I download QucsStudio from? Download the *.zip file from: http://dd6um.darc.de/QucsStudio/download.html QucsStudio does NOT require installation, just run "bin\qucs.exe". This is by far the simplest solution to run the project in this class. However, QucsStudio runs ONLY on Windows machines. You can run it inside a virtual machine if you have a different operating system. If none of these solutions are suitable for you, you may run Keysight Advanced Design System. This option is only possible for Purdue students. Please contact your instructor for more details. What tutorials are available for QucsStudio? You are provided with three videos to help you in the setup, and to guide you through what you need to know in the projects of this class: 1. Introduction_to_QucsStudio: Step-by-step guide on how to download and run QucsStudio, and run a simple RF simulation, along with S-parameters plots and SmithChart. 2. QUCS_LNA_tutorial: Designing an LNA from a given S-parameters file of a transistor. 3. QAM_vs_BER: Simulating a communication channel where the Signal-to-Noise-Ration (SNR) affects the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) Several examples can also be found in: http://dd6um.darc.de/QucsStudio/examples.html
