1. What is the difference between intensive and extensive properties? Give a few examples
of each.
2. What is the difference between exothermic and endothermic, and endergonic and
exergonic?
3. What is the formula for density?
4. What is specific gravity?
5. What is equivalent weight?
6. How did we find the pressure of dry gas? Why did we do this?
7. What is the formula for Ksp?
8. Know how to calculate concentrations or volumes for dilutions.
9. How do you find the specific heat of a substance using calorimetry?
10. Know how to determine equivalence point in titrations and find the initial concentration of
the solution. This is one of few topics that are heavily discussed in lab and lectureexpect a couple questions about the titration experiments.
11. What are colligative properties, and why do they occur?
12. Know the difference between gravimetric and conductometric analysis, and the
requirements for each.
13. How did we find Ka? What two techniques/ formulas did we use?
Go through each experiment, and the prelabs and quiz that go with it. Look for reagents,
techniques, or concepts (laws!) that we emphasized in class, or are emphasized in the quiz and
prelab. Know why we added the reagent in question, why and how we used the techniques, and
why the concepts, laws, or formulas apply. Also know how to do any calculations that you did in
your prelab. Try to rationalize why we did them; it will help you remember.
