The Blob players need to work together to navigate and tag others. Once The Blob captures all of the players, start over again. Watch Your Back Tag In this game everyone is It! All players are trying to tag another player before they are tagged. If two players tag each other at the same time they play a round of rock/paper/scissors to determine who stays in the game. If you are tagged without tagging your tagger, you sit down. Octopus Tag One player is designated as the Octopus. All other players line up on one side of the playing area. Octopus stands in the middle. When the Octopus says “Go,” all of the players try to reach the other side of the playing area without getting tagged. Any player that is tagged sits on the ground and becomes seaweed. During the next round, the seaweed can help tag from their place on the ground, moving only their arms. Once all players are seaweed, a new round begins. Toilet Tag It is the plumber. If tagged by the plumber, the tagged player must kneel on one knee with one arm held out to the side. Tagged players must stay frozen in this position as a toilet until a free player comes and sits on his knee and pushes down on his arm to flush the loo. The flushing unfreezes the toilet player to re-join the game. The player flushing cannot be tagged while „sitting‟ on a toilet. Play until all players are frozen or until time is called and a new plumber is nominated. Very large groups may wish to start each round with two or three plumbers. Beetle Tag One player is It. Players who are tagged must freeze in place, but players close to being tagged can lie down on their back and wiggle their arms and legs like a beetle to avoid being tagged. They can only do this for 10 seconds. It cannot stay next to a player as they count to 10. A frozen, tagged player can be unfrozen by a free player. Once all players are frozen, a new It is chosen. Module 5: Relay or Races Directions: Provide your answers briefly and concisely below. Use separate paper for your answer. 1. Explain relays and races in your own words. Relays/Races are team races in which one team member completes a certain job or course, then tags the next team member to complete the same assignment. The next individual is subsequently tagged, and so on. The game continues until all members of each team have accomplished the job, and the team that finishes first wins. 2. Explain the objectives and skills that will be developed through relays. The skills in relay races are – Teamwork, Speed, Strength and stamina, Determination and motivation, Fighting spirit, and the Ability to perform under pressure. Every relay event necessitates collaboration. To reach the desired result, all runners must work well as part of a team. A runner who is more focused with "self" will not be able to assist the team. In fact, if the team's top sprinter is selfish, the team is unlikely to win a medal. Every race is defined by its speed. In relay races, a fast runner will always win the day if all other factors are equal. This is especially crucial for the first and last runners in relay races. In a relay race, the starter and finisher are the same person. A fast starter offers the team a crucial advantage at the outset of the race, while a super-fast finisher helps the team negate or reduce any gap lost. In relay races, strength is crucial. It takes a bit extra strength to outrun better opponents with stronger starting line-ups. If you have a good starter with extraordinary speed, the team will be led to victory by the next runners who have the necessary strength. The group must be self-assured. There has never been a successful relay team that hasn't worked hard. Even though the possibilities are minimal, a committed squad will always overcome deficits. Even if they get the baton late, committed players will run to win. Motivation is also needed by players and runners. The waiter needs to figure out how to get the runner to pick up the pace. It is critical to understand this. The resolve to attain defined goals despite perceived difficulties is known as fighting spirit. To succeed in sporting contests, relay runners must have a strong fighting spirit. Ability to perform under pressure is comparable to a strong fighting spirit. In relay races, runners are frequently under pressure to make up for a disadvantage allowed by a prior co-runner. Directions: Write 3 most important things that you have learned from this module.
