Expected Number 5 30 4 18 Rationale and Objectives This has reference to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023 titled Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2023 2024, particularly on the conduct of School-based Midyear Performance Review and Evaluation (MPRE) and In-service Training (INSET) for Teachers. School heads play a crucial role in the educational system as leaders and decision makers. Their ability to innovate, and implement banner projects and school-based management practices can have a significant impact on the quality of education provided in their institutions. These can enhance the learning experience of students, making education more engaging, relevant, and effective leading to improved academic outcomes. The Schools Division of Benguet released Division Memorandum No. 365 s. 2023 titled District Review and Evaluation Committee on Best Practices Re: SDO Benguet In Focus, which is pursuant to RM 344 s. 2022 also known as contextualized policy on the Repository of SchoolBased Management Practices in DepEd CAR. It has been observed that there are various innovations, projects, and best practices being implemented and practiced by schools in the district of Bokod; however, these are not properly documented. From among the 43 elementary and secondary schools in Bokod, there is an average of ten proposals being submitted for review, evaluation and approval for implementation per School Year. On school monitoring, evaluation and adjustment reports, there is a need specific data on the number of schools which developed evaluation tools. Proper documentation of best practices, innovations, and projects ensures that valuable knowledge is preserved and can be passed on to future generations of educators and education leaders; schools can identify areas of improvements; fosters culture of learning; monitoring and evaluation; and transparency. In line with the MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang Makabansa agenda of the Department of Education; school heads are mandated to develop programs, projects and activities to addresses challenges in basic education. It is therefore necessary to that school heads will be oriented on the new guidelines on packaging best practices, banner projects, innovations and on the design of monitoring and evaluation tools that should be used by the schools. III. Objectives Generally, the activity leadership and development activity aims to orient 43 school heads of Bokod District about updates and issuances related to school-based management practices. Specifically, it aims to: a. Familiarize school heads with the form and style used for the preparation of re-entry action plans, application of education, banner project and best practices; b. Provide technical assistance to school heads on the SMEA updates and appropriate tools for evaluating school programs, projects and activities; c. Inform school heads on the packaging criteria for best practices. IV. Methodology School heads know the situation in their respective schools; hence, this learning and development activity will be conducted through non-directive, facilitation, and adult learning approaches.
