SCENARIO
A news article from Nikkei Asia reported that Philippines
GDP shrinks 9.5% in 2020, worst since 1947. The Philippines
ended the pandemic year of 2020 with its worst economic
performance that caused millions lost jobs during the pandemic.
The country also suffered economic fallout from the eruption of
the Taal volcano in January, 2020 and devastating typhoons in the
fourth quarter of 2020. As a result, large parts of the Philippines
have been under varying degrees of lockdown since mid-March
as the country struggled to contain the virus.
