3. Network Architecture The MAAN network is envisaged to be deployed in the BAs of the Telecom Circles and also connecting to the existing Core MPLS network. The network is planned to be deployed as a collection of sparsely connected rings. 3.1.High level MAAN Network Topology for a BA. MAAN network is built around Business Areas (BA) within the telecom circles. The traffic from the access routers are aggregated and delivered at BA for most of the services. The access routers connect to the next level router at the Exchange in ring or linear topology. The exchange routers aggregate traffic from the access routers and connect to the next level router at OA/SDCA which are in turn connected to the BA in rings. Figure 1: MAAN Topology with hand-off devices with BNG in same BA Tejas Networks Page 15 Figure 4: MAAN Topology with hand-off devices with BNG in different BA 3.3.MAAN Network Connecting to existing CPAN network 3.3.1. CPAN Network as transport for connecting two MAAN networks: CPAN network transparently connects two MAAN routers. All MAAN traffic is seamlessly transported to another MAAN router via a CPAN circuit. CPAN network here acts as a transport and transparently carries all the service traffic from MAAN. Tejas Networks Page 16 Figure 4(a): MAAN network connectivity to existing CPAN network 3.3.2. MAAN Network as transport for CPAN: CPAN network will be terminated on the MAAN network. MAAN network will seamlessly transport all the CPAN traffic over an L2VPN service. Figure 4(b): MAAN network connectivity to existing CPAN network 4. MPLS Network design - AS Each Telecom circle is split into multiple BA (business Area) which are connected to Core MPLS. An AS is planned for one BA. The AS will be private AS assigned by BSNL. Tejas Networks Page 17
