Task: Introduction
Culture is the combination of spiritual and emotional features of a particular set of people. We
can say that it defines the identity of a certain group of people. It includes food, dress, arts,
culture, literature, language, etc. Besides this, it consists of customs and traditions that are
followed and implemented by people from ancient times. Most importantly, it is something
that people follow as a community and society. This is basically something that every
individual needs to follow in the community. It leads to following rules and regulations that
are implemented in society. Culture is transferred from one generation to another following the
same customs and traditions. A person is identified from their culture and the place they belong
to. It is beneficial for the social and emotional well-being of people. In this culture essay, we
will discuss the types and importance of cultures in our lives. Nowadays, there are an estimated
15,000 cultures remaining on earth, many doomed or significantly threatened by many factors.
Culture loss is defined as the loss of cultural traits and practices. This includes both material
and non-material culture. All cultures are naturally inclined to change while also resisting
change. In this globalization era, there are constant elements at play that foster the acceptance
of new ideologies as well as objects, while others promote changeless stability. Cultural loss is
inevitable although there are conservative forces resisting the change happening in a culture.
Some of the factors of culture loss are the influence of mass media as well as social media
where culture exchange happens, rapid globalization and immigration. (Thesis statement.)

Task: Body Paragraph 1
Firstly, the mass media and the internet have greatly contributed to cultural of many societies
across the world. The mass media agents such as the television, internet, films and radio have
been very instrumental in promoting socialization by providing a perfect platform exchanging
ideas and opinions in various issues. As a consequence of that, people are free to share
whatever they want on social media and some pictures and write-ups may be inappropriate.
Nowadays people have become quite intolerant and often there are nasty comments regarding
another person’s perspective on politics, religion, social rights, and culture. These online
attacks often leave deep mental scars and even drive people to hurt themselves or take their
own lives. In some cases if it involved matters that touch racial sensitivities it can brings
harm to our nation's security. Apart from this, media also reflects culture and values. It can
lead to evolution and revolution of mind and heart of the people to gain new information in
this advanced technology era. Although it’s seems like a perks to all of us, it actually can
harm our traditions and culture too. There’s lot of modernisation of tradition has been made
because of the influence of social media. As a result of that, it causes a decline in traditional
values and morals that could ruin our younger generation’s future. Thus, old traditions may
be seen as losing its core and identity when the culture already been modernised with
technology.

Secondly, at 21st Century, a century of globalization where all the societies with different
culture live together. Mostly, Western civilization is sweeping away the traditions and culture
of the society, affecting changes in the behavior and thinking of people of different society. It
is understood that a culture loss seems too apparent in some communities where the main
culture is weak. Many think that if this trend keeps going on, the global diversity of culture
identity will be lost forever. Societies think globalization is a big threat as the young generation
is sweeping away with different cultures mostly adapting the culture of western style, which
unfortunately worry the societies as they think it will affect their culture and also won't take
time is the disappearance of their cultures and values they follow. However, this can't be true
all the time. There are some positive influence on people or society because of globalization.
Globalization is also a way to learn and explore the culture difference and so much more.
Globalization gives us a chance to represent our culture in front of the whole world and give
all different societies a chance to explore our culture. Nowadays different people from different
society lives together in different culture society, so by seeing the surrounding culture shown
by that society it gives a chance for the migrants to adapt and adjust with their culture and
values as they can learn and explore that they are seeing in their surroundings. Cultures are the
core values that cannot be disappeared just because of globalization. However, we can't say
globalization have no effect on cultures but, they won't change the rituals and values of a culture
of certain community or society.

Lastly, the richness and diversity of cultures, ethnicities, and races in industrialized countries
have been influenced by migration. Migrants can affect cultural change by transferring hostcountry cultural values and norms back to their home communities. The loss of social support
networks, religious traditions, and cultural standards, as well as the transition to a new culture
and changes in identity and self-concept, are among the many difficulties that people who
migrate encounter. Then, the peoples who migrate will start teaching us the culture that has
been practices in their country. As we can see, the West practices family social, which is not
suitable for us to practice. As example, the west allows men and women live in the same house
without getting married, a couple same-sex, single parenthood and others. Moreover, in clothes,
they have practice flashy fashion eyes for women and refer to freedom of fundamental rights
and freedom of expression. This is very inappropriate for all for the Muslim community in
Malaysia because the decency and customs of the Malay people are closely related to our
clothes. This kind of thing can subject the country to imperialist power by dissolving values,
distorting the meaning of religion, and destroying the pillars and important foundations that
become the practice and formation of a person's personality. As a result, they will lose their
identity. They will appreciate the other’s culture and way of life in their lives.

Task: Conclusion
In conclusion, cultural loss is inevitable although there are conservative forces resisting the
change happening in a culture. As mentioned, the influence of mass media as well as social
media, rapid globalization and immigration can caused the loss of culture. Moreover, loss of
cultural identity is a global issue, and elder generations are working to preserve their heritage
by uniting local communities. The younger generations are working extremely hard to adjust
to the new systems maintaining the political systems, thus this is not conceivable. Embracing
new cultures is not a bad thing, but having to lose your own cultural identity is bad because it
will mean that when one visits their home country, they will do what they did in the other
country. As a result, they will have abandoned the values, customs, and cultures of their
society—despite the fact that these things greatly influenced how they were raised. Culture is
seen to be in different forms and should be upheld at all times because it is an important part
in forming the society.
