Day 3 / 16-Jan: Ski Grand Hirafu

Day 6 / 19-Jan: Travel back to Sapporo / Fly to Tokyo
Day 7-8: Relax in Tokyo / Fly back to Boston
Day 1 / 14-Jan
1. Flight to Sapporo
The idea will be for people to get one of these two flights.
Optimally, we all get the same one so we can head out together.
The preference will be leaving super early (7:30AM) so we can
spend time at the Sapporo Brewery before heading to Niseko.
FYI, we will buy flights together so don’t worry about
this now. We will do initial + return flights synchronized
so everyone arrives in time to take the same vans.
Day 1
2. Rental Vans
1x
2x
We will plan on renting 2 x vans and 1 x car that we will use
to go from the airport to Niseko. These will be really great
to go to onsens or to other resorts. These are already
reserved and, if we need to adjust, I can do 3 x vans instead.
Day 1
3. Sapporo Brewery
After we pick up the rental cars, we can stop by the
Sapporo Brewery to grab a flight of Sapporo’s before
heading out to Niseko.

Day 1
4. AirBnB
Room 1: Couple Room (2 People)
Room 2: Couple Room (2 People)
Room 3: Couple Room (2 People)
Room 4: Bunk Beds (4 People)
Room 5: Bunk Beds (4 People)
Total cost for the AirBnb is $8,265.26 USD. For 14 people, this
comes to $591 PP. For 10, it is $827. We will try to fill up the
house completely to minimize cost. I think we have 4 x couples
as well. I think we can just do a little rotation for fairness.
Day 2
1. Rentals
Standard Skis / Boots / Poles: ~$115
Premium Skis / Boots / Poles: ~$145
*Same prices for Standard or Premium Snowboards +
Boots*
Day 2-4
1. Grand Hirafu (Free with Ikon Pass or ~$55 per day)
Day 5
1. Rusutsu (~$75 per day)

Where We Will Eat
Lots of other options but I just
threw a few together for now. We
will likely go out of the city a few
times to some sweet spots. Also,
we can do lunches on the
mountain or in the village at the
base near the Hilton which is very
stereotypical Japan ski culture
vibes (see right). This will be the
easiest part of the trip and highly
recommend you guys pick places
you want to see.
Onsens
There are plenty of options for
onsens. Every time I go, I always
end up going to the same outdoor
onsen (see right) so we will use
that first. It is split by gender and
pretty cheap. Should be fine with
tattoos although, bring some tape
to cover tattoos as a precaution.
We will likely do this post-ski
every day so everyone can
continue to ski. The bonus is that
you feel amazing afterwards.
Total Costs
AirBnB: $8465 ($605 PP for 14)
Van / Car Rental: ~1376 ($98 PP for 14)
Total: ~$9841 ($703 PP for 14)
Other Costs
1. Lift Tickets (w/o Ikon)
2. Rentals (~$115-145 PP)
3. Food / Drink (~$30-70 per day)
4. Onsens (~$20 per day)
5. Flight to Sapporo (~$100 PP)
Deposit
Total: $9841 / 12 = $820 PP
Due on Sunday, 24 January
As previously stated, the deposit is more than the actual
cost (12 vs 14 people). I will refund money afterwards so I
can give money to people as they pay for gas before we
turn in the rental vans.
I’m also going to see if we can get subsidized by the
Outdoor Club. They have a $50 PP reimbursement for group
outdoor activities which means $700 total for us! Might try
to bump that up since it is a trek (somewhat).
