Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited DOC. #: CSL-SD-01 DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE Revision. # 00 Issue Date: INSTALLATION OF SERVICE LINES THROUGH SEWERAGE DRAIN Page 1 of 1 13.11.2023 1.0 Purpose: The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines for protection of the service lines installed through sewerage drains. 2.0 Scope: This document will be applicable to the Service lines installed through sewerage drains in Distribution Regions against new service lines, Shifting of Service Line against SRP jobs and Maintenance work etc. 3.0 Responsibility 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.5 Sectional In-charge of respective Region will assess quantum of such service lines while initiating the Job No. and cost of additional services to be hired through Contractors will be mentioned in relevant expense head to avoid shortage of budget while execution of work. Sectional Head will award the work(s) to the Contractors as per prevailing SOP. Concerned Engineer & Site Supervisor shall be responsible for completion of work as per guidelines given in this document and Distribution Manual and data will be updated in CC&B. IT/MIS Department will arrange provision of relevant field/characteristics in Filed Activity of service line and Concerned Engineer/Supervisor shall ensure relevant data entry. QA Department will arrange inspection of service line as per their routine program to ensure implementation of SOP. The contractor will be responsible for the following at site; Concrete mixture (1:2:4) , PVC Pipe & Fittings as per requirement. Assembly of PVC pipe & Elbow and filling of concrete and curing in coordination with service line construction team. Reintatement of damaged drain 4.0 General Guidelines: 4.1 Small Drain/Nalla upto 2 feet width Laying of Service Lines (MS & PE) in smaller drains having width upto 2 feet shall be constructed as per below given 4.1 drawing. Length of Horizontal protection (concrete filled PVC Pipe including fitting ) shall not exceed 6” beyond the boundary of drain. Selection of diameter of protection (PVC pipe & Fittings) will be as per site requirement i.e. width of drain. Considering availability of space between drain and boundary wall of house, protection(morter filled PVC Pipe) will be given as per drawing selecting minimum diameter to reduce restriction in sewerage water flow. Damaged portion of drain(if any) will be reinstated as per actual with PCC. Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited DOC. #: CSL-SD-01 DISTRIBUTION PROCEDURE Revision. # 00 Issue Date: INSTALLATION OF SERVICE LINES THROUGH SEWERAGE DRAIN Page 1 of 1 13.11.2023 4.1- Service Line laying through small drain 4.2 Large Drain/Nalla 2 feet and above Laying of Service Lines (MS & PE) in large drains having width 2 feet and above shall be constructed as per below 4.2 drawing. The riser pipe of Service line shall consist of two-part, one part will installed along outer wall of the Nalla and will be atleast 6” below the ground level as shown in drawing. Second part will be installed after crossing of Nalla as per drawing and length of this part preferably will not exceed two feet from top of Inner wall of drain. Diameter of PVC Pipe & Fittings will be 4” for overhead crossing of large drain/Nalla. Considering constraints at site which may restrict laying of service line as per this document, the concerned Sectional In-charge may approve minor alterations while ensuring safety/integrity of service line. It shall be ensured that all concrete has been poured throughout PVC Pipe & Fittings and this shall be ensured by using suitable vibrator / soft hammering of PVC Pipe while pouring the concrete. Specifications of material and applicable rates 5.1 Specifications of Material 5.2 Applicable Rates Summary of prevailing applicable rates of 4” PVC Pipe & Fittings obtained from the Regions is attached as Annex-A, which may be revised alongwith schedule rates periodically.
