Thank you for choosing Cypress Mountain Snow School for your Raven Rider Lessons Dear Parents/Guardians, The information below will better equip and prepare you for what to expect before and during your child’s Raven Camp. Please read the information before traveling to the mountain, so you can be prepared to help in an effective way. This will give us the best opportunity to create a fun experience for your child together! Cypress Snow School This package includes everything you’ll need to know for your visit to Cypress Mountain, including: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) Prior to Arrival Parking Check in procedure Lunch Pre-Purchased Rentals Pick Up Rental and Ticket Add Ons Extra Information Feedback 1) Prior to Arrival What to Bring • • • • • A water-resistant jacket and pants and layers that can be added or removed as needed Gloves and goggles. If is sunny, bring sun glasses and wear sun screen Snacks (have a snack before your lesson and keep your energy up!) If you are renting, bring ID and a credit card for deposit Extra layers and a change of socks/gloves 2) Parking • Please find attached to this email a pdf of the Raven Rider Camp Drop Off Pass. This pass will grant you entry to the pickup and drop off areas of the parking lot. You can print it or pick one up in the morning at check in • • • Parents/Guardians will be directed by Base Ops to the Raven Riders morning parking area, this is not allday parking. Turn on your hazard lights to identify that you are dropping off Raven Riders In the afternoon you will be directed by Base Ops to the top of the pay parking lot. Please put on your hazard lights to identify that you are picking up Raven Riders The parking pass contains a code word you can use to identify yourself as a Raven Rider Parent/Guardian. If you forget any of this information it is written on the parking pass 3) Check in Procedure: (Check in every morning) • • • • • • Arrival Time starts at 8am Rentals will be available from 8am Check in starts at 8:30am and will close at 9am – in front of the main entrance to the Cypress Lodge If you miss the check in you will have to wait until the Lunch Break for your child to join the lesson. During this time your child will still be under your duty of care. Raven Riders lessons leave the base area at 9:30 am, students are required to meet their instructor on snow 15 minutes before (9:15 am) (Parents are responsible for their children until the lesson begins). Parents must be present and check in your children with their instructor every morning and afternoon. Tip: Expect traffic and leave ample travel time. Tip: Conditions on the road are variable – snow tires are MANDATORY. Lessons must go out on time. Instructors will not be able to wait for any late arrivals and will have to vacate the base area at the lesson start time. Do not miss your start time. 4) Lunch • • • • − There will be a buffet at lunch time, a member of staff will be plating up the food for the children. you will have 1 option per day and will be informed at the check in desk in the morning. (Please inform us of any dietary requirements at check in e.g., Vegetarian, mild allergy or intolerance) If you Have any severe food allergies, make sure to pack a lunch for your child. You will be able to leave a lunch bag on the 3rd floor of the lodge. Students will be in the duty of care of the instructor during lunch. Meal includes: A hot meal, cookie, juice box and an apple or clementine. 5) Pre-Purchased Rental Pick Up: • • • Upon arrival, proceed to Rentals at the time indicated on your receipt. Once you have your gear, and you are ready to go, go outside for lesson check in Rentals HAVE to be returned at the end of each day. 6) Rental and Ticket Add Ons • If you have not already purchased your rentals and lift tickets online before the class start, you will need to go to Lesson Desk (which is the mobile building on the snow). Lesson desk will be open from 8am. Please note that weekends are extremely busy so it is advised you arrive with enough time. • Please remember, Silver passes are not valid on weekends in January and February so you will need to purchase an add on. 7) Extra Information • • • Due to limited capacity please note The Cypress Creek Lodge is available for members of the public who are here to ski/ride and can only stay in the lodge when consuming food/beverages. You will not be allowed to stay in this building for the day (there is now a 45-minute limit).
