The problem description, In an assembly station components are to be put together. By pressing two pushbutton switches the device is advanced and the components are assembled. After releasing the pushbutton switches, the device is returned to its start position. Figure 1 UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PERLIS 2 Drives and Actuators (EMK31003) Laboratory Test TASK: i. Design pneumatic circuit for the system operation. (10 Marks) UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PERLIS 3 Drives and Actuators (EMK31003) ii. Laboratory Test Construct Electro-pneumatic circuit using Pneumatic Training Panel. (10 Marks) iii. Explain the sequence of Electro-pneumatic circuit for the system operation. (20 Marks) The proper functioning of an electro-pneumatic circuit is crucial for controlled device movement in industrial settings. When assembled, with both cylinders at the start position and solenoid valves inactive, the system remains idle. Initiating device advancement is triggered by pressing the first pushbutton switch, energizing the corresponding solenoid valve and directing air to the first cylinder. Flow control valves ensure precise regulation of the cylinder's speed during this phase. The advancement concludes when a limit switch, activated by the device, deactivates the first solenoid valve, bringing the device to a halt. Operators then press the first pushbutton switch in the next step, aiding smooth component assembly. Pulling this switch de-energizes the second solenoid valve, initiating the return phase, retracting the device to its initial position. Flow control valves carefully manage the speed during this retraction process. The device halts at the start position during the return, triggered by another limit switch, which de-energizes the second solenoid valve. This systematic process ensures reliable and methodical functionality, crucial for effective assembly procedures in manufacturing UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PERLIS 4 Drives and Actuators (EMK31003) Laboratory Test LABORATORY TEST SET C Total Marks: / 40 Name and Matric No : GOGILAVAANI A/P SRIGARAN(211362708) Instructor Approval : ____________________________ Design & Simulation Sign Partially Complete Design (5-6m) Incomplete Design (0-4m) Demo with Excellent Explanation (9-10m) Demo with Good Explanation (7-8m) Demo with Acceptable Explanation (5-6) No Demo (0-4m) Complete with Testing (16-20m) Complete without Testing (11-15m) Partially Complete (6-10) Incomplete (0-5) Date Circuit Constructions Sign Complete Design without Simulation (7-8m) Date Demonstration Sign Complete Design with Simulation (9-10m) Date UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PERLIS 5
