An Object that has a mass of 5 kg extends a spring by 5 cm when placed in equilibrium position. An
external force 𝐹(𝑑) = 2 sin(𝛾𝑑) − 3 cos(𝛾𝑑) is applied to this mass-spring system which leads to
displacements of the attached object from its initial position. Assume that the motion starts from the
system’s equilibrium position.
a) Using the method of your choice, find the solution of the equation of motion that models the
system described above.
b) Calculate the value of 𝛾 such that the displacement will eventually leads to failure as time goes
to infinity.
