Love and Hate is about someone who used to love someone greatly, but now hates them. The
writer says that God will smite this person before she could forgive them (lines3-4). The
narrator further says that she will ask them to stay over her dead body (lines 7-8). She states
that this person’s betrayal took her life away (lines 15-16). The author feels passionately bitter
towards this person.
