LESSON 1 & 2
Task 2. YOU’RE FACTS AND MY OPINION
Paragraph
Objective statements
stated in Text
Subjective statement
of the writer about it
My reaction
1
A hero is someone with
his journey that others
would not be able to
take due to the lack of
qualities that make the
essential psychological
core of a hero, for
example bravery.
Here, Homer
accentuates Odysseus's
struggle that he
experiences while
attempting to hide tear
shedding which
essentially seen as a
weak behavior, even by
the protagonist himself.
The author further
suggests that tears are a
sign of fear, and, being
human, the true hero
must be afraid "because
he is not the most
powerful”.
Instead, a hero is not a
mere follower – he is a
leader.
It's no surprise that heroes
contribute to the
development of the
communities in which
they dwell. Odysseus
strikes a good mix of
diversity.
For example, upon
hearing Demodocus’s
song in Book 8,
Odysseus is unable to
control his emotions.
Honestly, knowing that
heroes can weep is
heartening. Odysseus, not
God, is depicted by
Homer as a person.

Therefore, it is evident
Odysseus is a fascinating
that Odysseus does not protagonist, but it doesn't
have to align with the

idealized version of a
hero to perform as such
in the poem.
Task 3. THE SOCIETY & ME
Areas to look closely
1. What is the problem
described in the text
which the public must
recognize?
2. What situation is against
the general values
accepted by the society?
The text says…
There’s no clear intervention
being implemented.
The government doesn’t
make any considerations.
I think that…
The government really failed
in doing their duties, so we
are.
The government action is
where everything depends
on.
3. To what age group is the
problem in the text being
referred?
4. Can the problem be
resolved through the joint
action of every citizen?
To older persons.
Provide support to older
people -; and protect older
persons.
They deserve to get an equal
attention as the other age of
group does.
In this kind of situation, our
joint action as this nation
people is indeed helpful.
TASK 6: POV LENS
Topics

Why?

own personal story.
-the statement seems not
the writer’s direct
experience.
-The writer focuses on idea
participating rather than pronoun.
-focusing
on the other person, idea, object,
