Especially in the 21 st century the younger generation is rapidly moving on with social media platforms than the older generation. Nowadays, a smaller number of young people go through newspapers and tv news, since the generation has been evolved during the period of time. This essay will discuss the causes and suggestions and argue with the relevant examples. Much better looking. Good! The younger generation has been progressively involved with the technology, where social media has been the key platform in their lives. The main cause for disinterest in reading newspapers and watching TV to gather news is the lifestyle and the busy schedules of younger generation. With the rapid pace of their lives, majority of the people go through different apps to update themselves, such as, twitter and Facebook along with different online news reader apps through their mobiles or computers. It was found that in Sri Lanka, between the age of 16 to 30 years of age, 89% of people use social media platforms read news articles, around the world. On the other flip side of the coin, it was recognized that, in the newspaper and in the television lot of political information has been shared everyday which makes the young generation lose interest in going through these platforms. The new generation is more interested in business, technology and sports. etc., which is another reason for people to lose interest. Nevertheless, to attract the younger generation the producers should make the content of the program more attractive, with more useful information rather than including more political news on the line. In order to attract younger generation the television channels could develop programs that are interactive and involve them in the production stage itself. Similarly, newspapers could arouse the interest of the newest mindsets by conducting quiz programs and announcing attractive prices. Thus, encouraging to continue to use traditional methods of news collection. In conclusion, I suggest to have more educational topics on the developing world as well as less number of political news. To summarize, Despite the quick access and absence of rigidity enjoyed in social media, long standing modes of transmitting news can be beneficial to develop an overall understand of the world. This will encourage the latest generation to be a part of the larger population. I can see that you are definitely improving. Please see my suggestions and samples, to use them as a guide.
