Project Proposal for the Initiation of the Computer & Programming Club at GGU Title: GGU CodeCrafters Focus: GGU CodeCrafters is a GGU club where university students learn coding and programming regardless of their knowledge of Computer Science. Given the digitized world characterized by the great importance of technological literacy, our club would strive for a collaborative learning model. The requisites are little to be met by any high school student, though passion or at least zeal in the subject is necessary. Weekly meetings, training sessions, and intermember contacts empower members to explore the integrated world of coding and software development. Event in the Club's First Term: "GGU CodeCrafters Kickstart Workshop" Description: We also plan to organize a "Kickstart Workshop," our inaugural event for beginners in programming. This event will be split into two sessions: Introduction to Programming Concepts: The session would also familiarise the participants with some programming terminologies and basic algorithms and underscore the importance of coding, given today's technology-oriented world. Hands-On Coding Session: Under the guidance of experienced student mentors, the attendees will dive into the first coding experience and develop a simple project by the end of the workshop. This could be a simple webpage, a calculator or a neat game. We want to demystify the world of programming by hosting an event demonstrating anyone can code with proper guidance. GGU CodeCrafters would promote ethics in tech and support the diversity mission of GGU. We aim to create a space where students can work together, develop new ideas and grow their expertise in the tech field beyond what they learn within the confines of a standard classroom. We seek to engage students with unique learning experiences and networking affiliations to the promising tech sector and provide for this through diverse events, workshops, and guest speakers.
