Banaras Hindu University, an internationally reputed
temple of learning, situated in the holy city Varanasi was
founded by the nationalist leader and great visionary
Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in 1916.
The Agri start-up conclave is two days event
designed to bring together entrepreneurs specially
grassroot entrepreneurs, investors, industry, experts
and academia in the agricultural start-up ecosystem.
The main aim of this program is to explore latest

The late Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, the
esteemed founder of this university, recommended the
establishment of the Institute of Agricultural Research,
Banaras Hindu University in 1931. This recommendation
led to the creation of the Institute of Agricultural
Sciences, which was formally established in August 1980.
The Institute was one of the first in India to initiate
postgraduate teaching and research programs in
agriculture at the time of its founding; the only other
institution in the field was at Lyallpur (now in Pakistan).
