Course: Contemporary management 1- Problem definition The most disadvantages of hierarchical organizational structure are complicated chains of command which slow down the decisions making and the decisions making power and authority are concentrated at the top level without proper delegations or creative process. 2- Justification of the problem The management structure in top-down hierarchy decision making power and authorities are concentrated at the top of the organizational chart, the top level executives have the most power and control over the organization's operations, This type of hierarchy is characterized by a rigid chain of command. This type of organizations sees the new ideas as threats rather than opportunities for development and there is no room for creativity. 3- Alternatives A- Decentralization involves delegating decision-making authority. B- Create cross functional teams. C- Employee empowerment involves encourage employees to test new ideas. 4- Evaluation of Alternatives A- Decentralization involves delegating decision-making authority.
