Project Name: Cathedral of Learning Lecture Hall Renovation

Reporting Period:
Work completed this reporting period:
1. All tasks for the completion of this project properly delegated amongst project
managers with a clear scope of what is expected to be accomplished.
2. Materials such as paint, desks, lights, and new technology have been ordered
for end of week 1 (09/01/23)
3. Construction team begun removing and preparing lecture hall for renovation by
end of week 1 (09/01/23)
4. Confer with university, structural engineers, and the historical preservation
society to confirm a timeline that is appropriate for completion.
5. Begin blocking off sections of the Cathedral of Learning to ensure safety of
students, workers, and staff.
Work to complete next reporting period:
1. Refurbish the floors and walls with a new coating of paint to give the room an
improved atmosphere.
2. Engage with structural engineers and electricians to properly place outlets on
both the floor and walls on each row safely and according to code.
3. Review ceiling light fixtures and ensure they can be used with LED overhead
lights.
What’s going well and why:
Teamwork amongst all project managers and acceptance of their roles have ensured a
seamless transition from the planning of the project to the beginning of the project.
Additionally, the beginning stages of the project such as ordering new equipment and
removing of the original equipment has gone smoothly.
What’s not going well and why:
The age and structure are proving to be a problem as the lecture hall possesses limited
outlets, outdated electrical wiring and in-depth planning with experts who will need to
be consulted throughout the life of the project.
Suggestions/Issues:
To minimize the structural risk, engineers will be consulted every step of the way to
ensure we keep every renovation up to code along with not damaging any other part of
the Cathedral.
