Magdiwang faction - The Magdiwang faction was one of two rival groups during the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule in the late 19th century. Led by figures like Mariano Álvarez and Artemio Ricarte, they favored a more aggressive approach, advocating for immediate armed resistance. This faction was based in Noveleta, Cavite. The Magdalo faction- played a role, in the Philippine Revolution against colonial rule in the late 19th century. Led by figures like Emilio Aguinaldo and Baldomero Aguinaldo among others their headquarters were established in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. Unlike their counterparts in the Magdiwang faction who preferred resistance and guerrilla warfare from the start the Magdalo faction initially pursued a cautious and diplomatic approach to bring about change. They first sought negotiations with the authorities before resorting to conflict. Despite their differing strategies both the Magdiwang and Magdalo factions shared a goal of freeing the Philippines from colonial rule. While there were rivalries and conflicts between these groups during the revolution their ultimate aim was to achieve independence, for the people.
