• This property combines multiplication with addition and subtraction.
• To multiply a sum or difference, multiply each number within the
parentheses by the number outside the parentheses.

• Distribute the 3 to both numbers inside of the parentheses by
multiplying.
• 3(2) + 3(6)
6 + 3(6)
6 + 18
