Main Functions of the Position Reporting to the Senior Manager of Material Management, the inventory control manager is responsible for managing all activities related to inventory control and inventory records. This person must ensure that consistency and accuracy in inventory levels are maintained by all employees while ensuring that the strategy is aligned with shipping and receiving procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communicate with upper management, assistant managers in the operations area, supervisors, and employees to regarding inventory updates and projects Directing and managing staff on procedures and policy relating to inventory management including receiving, handling, picking and packing supplies, maintaining minimum stock levels and shipping while ensuring lead times are kept up to standard Responsible for enforcing and policing PPE across the department to ensure workers are projected and following all other health and safety guidelines Reviewing freight options for outgoing and incoming shipments ensuring timeliness and low prices Provide leadership, training development to inventory team ensuring that the team morale is strong promoting employee retention Oversee the entire inventory management system to align with corporate strategic inventory plan and customer requirements Responsible for all information on materials and products that are in the warehouse using computerized system of tracking Responsible for planning and coordinating the inventory related tasks including reporting, scheduling and material planning Position Qualifications Certifications Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, inventory management, operations management, material management or logistics is required for this position Certified in APICS - CSCP, SCMP preferred Must hold a G driver’s license as they may be required to travel to short distances (St. Thomas and London area) with use of the company vehicle Preferably hold a forklift license as the occasional use of a forklift will be required when training or on other occasions Additional Requirements and Skills Must be able to work in a loud and disruptive environment. Must be WHMIS and CPR certified Previous experience in a similar role, or in manufacturing is considered an asset Previous managerial or supervisory experience will also be considered an asset Excellent computer-based skills with proficiency in working on ERP systems Listening and communication skills are key in this position to work in a team environment and to properly manage tasks amongst employees The ability to lead, instruct, and train others while displaying a positive attitude and effectively communicating with others Able to effectively problem solve by determining the problem, creating possible resolutions, and carrying out the solution Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment Possess strong organization skills by ensuring all work practices are followed, while developing new processes when required The person must have a reliable means of transportation to and from work A criminal records check will be required for this position Ability to manage time effectively to ensure work-flow is up to a standard Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Wearing a mask while working is mandatory until further notice This position requires constant moving including sitting, lifting, climbing and walking Lifting up to 30 lbs will be frequently retired This position is full-time, 40 hours per week and the hours of work are from 7:30am to 3:30pm from Monday to Friday This position requires inside and outside work including outdoors in all weather conditions Required to wear all required PPE including safety footwear (TSA approved), and a safety helmet Compensation The standard salary for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on previous experience and qualifications If the person in this role has more than 5 years of experience, they could be eligible for an increased salary
