We must create an environment to attract users to their libraries. 3 METHODOLOGY For this article I have collected information from many libraries: Academic Libraries University Libraries Public Libraries Special Libraries Consulted both Library Professionals and Library Users. 4 HOW LIBRARIES CAN PROMOTE READING HABITS • • • • • • • • • • • • Providing Platforms to Access Resources Providing Atmosphere Access to Right Information and Services Rewarding Readers Interactions with Library Users Strategies Encouragement Encourage to use Social Medias Library Hours Reading Groups Exhibitions Miscellaneous Approaches: • • • • • Providing Mobiles Libraries Author Visits (Either Physically or Virtually) Adequate Funds Web and Self-care tools such as Tablets, Kindle devices and Audio-Video devices to access virtual resources of a library Timely Modernizations of library services 5 RESULT Results of this are: • There is a dire need to develop reading culture in the society • Without promoting reading habits among users, libraries can’t fascinate them to use libraries. • Without Frequenting libraries, users can’t become Intellectual one. 6 RECOMMENDATION/SUGGESTION Developing a reading environment cannot be ignored. Reading gives us developments quality life. Depending only on textbooks is not sufficient enough to make a person a well read and well educated one. Without constant and wide reading people cannot develop skills of finding, choosing, organizing, handling, analysing, valuing and processing of information. 7 CONCLUSION As we look towards the future: • we are excited to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead • Which includes the growth of artificial intelligence • The continued development of Libraries in serving its users is necessary • Zeal and dedication will helps us to find new ways to strengthen our library’s ecosystem. 8 THANK YOU 9
