You can use the stems on the left to help you. Feel free to use dictionaries. Suffix –ish can be used informally to describe: - Color: reddish, brownish - Age: thirtyish - Time: sevenish ACTIVITY 2 Describing Objects • Work in pairs. • Take turns to describe an object WITHOUT saying what it is. • The other student guess what it is. ACTIVITY 3 Developing vocabulary: paraphrasing and explaining • Work in groups. • Receive a pack of word cards and put them face down. • Divide them up between you, still face down. • Each member has 60 SECONDS to describe as many of the words on their cards as possible. • You MUST NOT say the word on the card, NOR any word in the same word family. • The other students guess the word. • The student(s) who have the most cards are winners.
