Carrier Aggregation enables data to be simultaneously transmitted on two or more frequency layers to the same user increasing speed and perceived customer experience. Criteria to Flag Issues ▪ Scheduling counter, PMCASCHEDULEDDLSUM was used to identify Carrier Aggregation issues in this audit. ▪ Cells are flagged if band combination criteria is met and PMCASCHEDULEDDLSUM for either 2CC and 3CC shows zero. ▪ Carrier Aggregation Activation Steps: Scell Configuration → Scell Activation→ Scell Scheduling→ Scell Deactivation→ Scell Deconfiguration. Action Required ▪ Please check the parameters listed in the checklist and work with local switch or WROPS to correct the discrepancies found. KPIs Impacted by this issue ▪ Average DL User Throughput ▪ Quality KPIs Feature/Parameter checklist ▪ sCellCandidate should be defined “ALLOWED” to the co-sectors and best overlay sectors if there is no underlay sectors. ▪ CarrierAggregation (CXC4011476) should be “Activated” ▪ ThreeDlCarrierAggregation (CXC4011714) should be “Activated” ▪ 4CC DL Carrier Aggregation Extension (CXC4011980) needs to be activated for 4CC case ( eg . AWS3, L19 2C, LAA ) ▪ Cross DU Carrier Aggregation (CXC4011700) is needed for only single enodeb (cascaded DU) case, else it should be deactivated. In case of ERAN CA this feature must be deactivated/not supported. ▪ Inter-eNB Carrier Aggregation (CXC4011983) should be deactivated ▪ Elastic RAN (CXC4012034) needs to be activated for ERAN ▪ Basic AAS for FDD (CXC4012254) should be activated in case of FDD AAS case (AIR3246 antenna case for LTE FDD) ▪ Dynamic SCell Selection for Carrier Aggregation (CXC4011559) should be activated to all the sites (2CC and 3CC). ▪ DSS feature should be ON both M and L nodes. If M node is not ON, L/B will not be doing 3CC with D/E. ▪ Check the counter pmEranCaPartnerBlock- If this counter peg means there is some issues on this site. Ideally this counter should show 0. ▪ If one node is running 20.Q4 SW and another node in the same site is with 20.Q3 SW. CA may not be working. Make sure all the nodes in site are the same version of SW. ▪ It is recommended to activate the same set of features on all eNodeBs using the Elastic RAN feature. ▪ For example, corresponding features related to the number of antennas must be activated on all eNodeBs that are using the Elastic RAN feature.
