DIY Rolling Workbench Thanks for downloading the DIY PETE Rolling Workbench plans. This is a fun and simple project that can easily be accomplished in a weekend. The table will provide a nice big work surface to build all sorts of other DIY projects on. The locking caster wheels allow the table to be moved with ease. I stained the wood with Special Walnut stain from Minwax. The table is 28 ½ inches tall with the wheels. Feel free to modify the height of the table. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 5 Cut the plywood top to size Use a circular saw to cut the plywood top to size. My plans call for a 90 inch wide by 48 inch table top. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 6 Frame the top Attach the plywood table top to the boards that frame it. Use 2 inch screws from the top side about every 8‐12 inches around the perimeter. Connect the 2x4 boards to each other using 3 inch wood screws. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 7 Connect the legs Cut the legs to size on a miter saw. Feel free to adjust the height as needed to best it your needs. Attach them to the 2x4 boards at each corner using a few 3 ½ inch long wood screws. The legs are 23 ¾” long and so the total height of the table with the ¾ inch plywood and without the wheels is 24 ½”. The 3 inch caster wheels with the swivel adds another 4 inches bringing the total height to 28 ½ inches. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 8 Add table top supports Connect the ive support boards and space them according to the measurments below. Use 3 inch long wood screws to connect the frame to the supports. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 9 Create the lower shelf Cut the boards to frame out the lower shelf. Attach the boards using 3 inch wood screws. Cut the plywood for the lower shelf. Use a couple 3 ½ inch wood screws to attach the shelf to the legs at each corner. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 11 Here is another diagram showing the lower shelf. I spaced the frame 2 inches up from the bottom of each leg. http://www.diypete.com/rollingworkbench DIY PETE, LLC Copyright 2017 12 Add the outside boards Attach the lower boards around the outside of the legs.
