I will be primarily discussing pragmatism and it’s various theories; additionally, I will expound upon pragmatisms correspondence to other tangentially related theories and providing an example on how to utilize the pragmatic maxim. 3. I will first elaborate on the pragmatic maxim and the pragmatic theory of truth, these two concepts will then be compared to the theory of truth. Additionally, I will apply the pragmatic maxim to that of Hume’s copy principle in order to provide insight into practical applications of pragmatism. Pragmatic Maxim & Theory of Truth Explain the main concepts of the pragmatic theory of truth and it’s maxim. Provide some examples. Comparison with Standard Theory of Truth Compare the pragmatic theory to that of the standard theory. Discuss similarities and differences. Hume’s Copy Principle Apply pragmatic maxim to the copy principle. Go in depth and provide a solid foundational application.
