1.
INTRODUCTION
The reservoir pressure in Qatar’s North Field has been declining as COMPANY and other
operators have been drawing gas continuously since early 1990s. The overall North Field
Production Sustainability (NFPS) Project objective is to sustain the Qatargas (QG) North Field
Production Plateau via an integrated investment in surface facilities expansion (Drilling, Pipeline
Looping, and Compression). Compression facilities additions are expected further in the future
and are not part of this project scope.
The Engineering, Procurement, Construction for the North Field Sustainability (NFPS) Offshore
and Pipelines Project (EPCOL) covers integrated investment for drilling and looping elements of
the NFPS portfolio. The project encompasses surface facility expansion to the multiple existing
ventures (i.e. RL1, RGE, QG1, QG2, etc.) within Qatargas, with a wide footprint i.e. offshore fixed
facilities, subsea cables, subsea pipelines, onshore pipelines and tie-in to the existing slug
catchers located in Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC).
1.1. PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The objective of the EPCOL project includes:
•
•
•
•
•
1.2.
Achieve standards of global excellence in Safety, Health, Environment, Security and
Quality performance.
Sustain the Qatargas North Field Production Plateau via integrated investment in surface
facilities expansion (Drilling/Production Platforms, Riser Platforms, Pipeline Looping,
Subsea Composition Cables, and associated Brownfield modifications).
Facility development shall be safe, high quality, reliable, maintainable, accessible,
operable, and efficient throughout their required life.
Achieve the scheduled RSFU for the FACILITIES in their entirety.
Complete integration of the FACILITIES to the existing Qatargas assets.
PROJECT SCOPE
The project scope of work includes Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction,
Installation, Hook-up and System Completion for the following facilities. Additionally, provide
startup assistance for the facilities if requested in accordance to project requirement.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Four (4) Wellhead Platform (WHP) Topsides (Jackets by others);
Six (6) Riser Platforms (RP), including Topsides and Jackets.
Six (6) Bridges (BR) connection RPs to existing WHPs.
Six (6) Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA)-Clad Carbon Steel (CS) Intra-field Pipelines.
One (1) pipeline Decommissioning.
Four (4) Subsea Composite (Power and Fiber Optic (FO)) Cables.
Significant Offshore brownfield modifications and upgrade at existing Offshore facilities.
