Use of SA-333, Grade 6 Seamless and Welded
Steel Pipe
Section I
Inquiry: May seamless and welded steel pipe conforming to SA-333, Grade 6 be used in Section I
construction?
Reply: It is the opinion of the Committee that seamless and welded steel pipe conforming to SA-333,
Grade 6 may be used in Section I construction provided
the following requirements are met.
(a) The maximum allowable stress values shall be
those listed in Table 1.
(b) This Case number shall be identified in the
Manufacturer’s Data Report.
