BAROQUE ERA
(1600-1750)
About the period
The English word ‘Baroque’ comes from the Portuguese term barroco (‘a
flawed pearl’).
Baroque eventually came to describe an extravagant style of art
characterized by curvy lines, gilt and gold.
The era started around 1600s and ended in 1750s.
Baroquism is a style of architecture, music, dance, painting, sculpture,
poetry, and other arts that flourished in Europe from 1700- 1750.
The era is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated emotion to
produce drama, tension, exuberance and grandeur in sculpture, painting,
architecture, literature, dance and music.

mirror, I painted it in
maroon hue.
STEP 3: Next, I used
mouldit clay for the
design, affixing it later
on.
