St. John College of Engineering and Management is Located in Dist: Palghar, State: Maharashtra,
Country: India. SJCEM is Consisting of Two Wings, Each wing is consisting of 3 Floors. Each floor is
consisting of Classrooms and Laboratory. To fulfill need of Electricity currently, electricity has been
provided by the MSEB, India. The rooftop solar proposal is for the power reduction in SJCEM Under
Category – LT (X). The Average Tariff Rate is 8.70 Rs. Per kWh.

 To decide optimum Solar Installation Capacity:
 The Average units per months = 26,444.92 units in kWh
 Average Units per Day = 26,444.92/30Days = 881.49 Units
 1 kW Solar installation Produces 4 units of electricity per day. Hence kW size required
based on daily average consumption = 881.49/4 = 220.37 say 200 kW
 As a Sanction load Capacity of Electricity Meter is 217.5 kW
 The Roof top area available is 2900 m2 or 32,000 Sq. Ft

 As per the Thumb Rule 1kW of Solar Panel Installation requires 10m2 or 100 Sq. ft of
Rooftop Area
 So, 200 kW will required 2000m2 or 20,000 Sq. ft
 Considering The state Policy which allows 100% Sanction Load Installation Capacity
 So, we can go for 200kW of Solar Project against 217.5kW Combined Sanction Load
 Hence, we recommend 200 kW of Solar System.
