Honors Algebra II w/Trig Homework for Wednesday/Thursday, November 15 th & 16th Chapter 4 part II test review assignment. NOTE: I’ve listed the pages and problems below but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE follow my directions…Thank you!! Section 4.5: p. 305 problems 37 and 39 Directions: a. Find all real zero (round answers to nearest hundredths) b. Find the x value of one relative maxima and relative minima (also round to nearest hundredths.) Section 4.6 Lots of problems here as you’ll need to practice your factoring. Directions: Factor polynomials completely. There are no ‘prime’ polynomials. You can only use quadratic formula on a quadratic to find zeros and then convert zero’s to factors. All other degree polynomials must be factored using a factoring technique: substitution, sum/difference of cubes, difference of squares, factoring by grouping, distributive property with another method, etc. Long division and synthetic division in this section will not count as work as I am assessing ‘factoring’ Factor only: p. 305 problem 45 and p. 278-279 4, 7 , 9 , 11, 18 Factor and solve: p. 305 problems 43 & 47 and p. 278-279 problems 62, 67, 68 Section 4.7 Directions: Prove the given equation is/is not an identity. p. 306 problems 50-53 Section 4.8 Directions: Given the polynomial and one of its factors, find the remaining factors p. 306 problems 58-60 all. Students can use long division, synthetic division, quadratic formula to find zeros to then convert to factors (what that reducing thing!) NOTE: this is the section where, given a 4th degree (or higher) polynomial and one factor, students can find ONE other factor using their calculator but must use synthetic division or long division to find the majority of the factors. In other words, show work!!!! Section 4.9 Directions: Students will be asked to find all zeros of a polynomial. Additionally, create a table of all possible combinations of positive real, negative real and imaginary zeros p. 306 problems 63-65 all Since not all factors will be integer zeros, this means they’ll have to show work (cannot simply use graphing calculators). Students can use factoring techniques, synthetic division, long division, quadratic formula….. Directions: Write a polynomial function or least degree with integral coefficients that have the given zeros p. 298 problems 40-44 even
