SDC OUTAGE UPDATE INNER CITY

City Power Inner City Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is sitting with 703 outage calls, 450 of those
calls were logged in the past 24 hours. We have 52 plants that are out of service.
NOTE: Heat Wave has an impact on electricity distribution and transmission. The demand for
electricity increases as customers find ways to cool off using air cons, fans, and pools that use
power-guzzling pumps. Please use electricity sparingly to avoid unnecessary trips due to network
overload.
Problem area/s include:
Sebenza substation (Observatory and Bellevue) tripped on 02 December 2023. Repairs are
underway. Detailed information will be forwarded later this evening.
Load shedding stage 4 has been implemented the following blocks are affected:

Please note that loadshedding might delay repairs and restorations. Our teams are not able to locate
the faults, conduct tests, or do repairs during this time.
Extra 30 minutes are added to allow for purposes of restoration to take place. Customers are urged
to switch off non-essential appliances to avoid inrush current when restoration takes place.

well as on social media @CityPowerJhb.
