My Motivation to Learn English
From my childhood, I aspired to speak
and learn English, but I attended a Hindi medium
school. Despite the challenges, I never gave up
and continued to pursue English fluency.
Why I Didn't Choose an English Medium School
Financial constraints and the
ineffective English education system in my state
prevented me from joining an English medium
school. Even if I had, they wouldn't have
provided the necessary language exposure.
Learning Vocabulary and the Struggle to Form
Sentences
I began memorizing 5-10 English words
daily for four years, which significantly
improved my vocabulary. However, I faced the
challenge of constructing sentences using these
words.
Motivation to Learn English Faster
A moment of embarrassment when I
couldn't answer a simple English question
motivated me to learn the language. This
determination took root in 2018 after completing
my matriculation exams.
Exploring English Through Technology
In 2020, I purchased a new phone and
started immersing myself in English content, like
TV shows, songs, and podcasts. However, I
struggled to express myself verbally.
Overcoming Communication Hurdles
In 2020, I discovered an application
called 'Talk Now' to converse with random people
in English. Initially, I faced challenges
expressing myself, but with practice, I improved
significantly.
Encouragement for Hindi Medium School Students
If you're in a Hindi medium school and
believe you can't speak English, you're mistaken.
Focus on learning English as a language, not just
a subject, and prioritize fluency over
perfection.
