Food pyramids are a good tool to help you stay healthy. Food groups are divided into
different levels depending on how much you should eat of each group. The first group
is fruits and vegetables. It is important to include vegetables in every meal. You should
eat at least three fruit portions every day. Try a veggie smoothie in your breakfast or an
apple as a snack! The second group is grains. This includes bread, cereal and pasta.
These foods will give you lots of energy! Try to include whole grains in your diet and
don’t eat big portions of this group. Next, we have the third group: dairy products.
Products like cheese, milk and yogurt give you protein, vitamins and calcium. Try to
include three small portions of dairy in your diet. After, we have the fourth group: meat,
fish and chicken. These foods are a good source of protein. It is enough to include them
two or three times a week in your diet. Last, we have foods high in sugars, fats and salt.
This includes potato chips, soft drinks and candy. To be healthy eat small portions of
these foods and not very often.
