Note: The iPod should still be connected to SoundLink speaker using the 3.5 mm audio cable. 28 TEST PROCEDURE TAP COMMANDS 10. Battery Age Check Product Color Setting in Bose Connect app 10.1 The battery is not able to supply age information by TAP. Use the product’s Date Of Manufacture (DOM) to estimate the battery age or the DOM printed on the battery. The DOM is the 8th,9th,10th and 11th number in the serial number in the from YDDD. IMPORTANT NOTE: When you replace a Main PCB assembly, you must set the product color using TAP in order for the product color to show up correctly in the Bose Connect app. The color variant is referenced by the Bose Connect App. Example: 7097 is the 97th day of 2107 or April 7th, 2017. If you forget that setting, the color of product photo in the Bose Connect App may not match the color of the actual unit. 10.2 The battery should be less than 30 months old. Procedure (Polycomm) : - Connect a USB micro cable to an open USB port on the PC and to the micro USB connector on the unit. - Open PolyComm - Enter TAP mode. Verify that that unit is connected. You should see “connected” in green type at the bottom of the PolyComm window. - Issue the “sv 4,x” command. x is the variant number below. - Enter Color Variant number below. Revolve / Revolve Plus Black : 1 LUX (gray): 2 11. Factory Default Settings (Ship Mode) IMPORTANT: Upon completion of repair and testing, the speaker must be set to factory defaults and must be restored prior to return to the customer. 11.1 Send the TAP command “fd” (carriage return) to restore unit to factory default conditions. 11.2 Send the TAP command “sh” (carriage return) to place battery in ship mode. 11.3 Unplug the Micro-USB cable from the speaker and the computer. - Confirm the setting by “sv 4” command. You should see the below result, either 1 or 2, depending on which color you set it to. 11.4 Verify battery is in ship mode by pressing the Power button five times and confirming none of the LED’s light up. 11.5 Remove the SoundLink speaker device from the Bluetooth device list on the iPod and the NFC mobile device. 29 TAP COMMANDS sh 99 - Reman Ship Mode; places the unit into a special remanufacturing mode.
