Henry Ford wanted everyone to be able to own a motor car, so in 1908 he developed a method of making the cars move along a conveyor belt system. Workers were able to stand alongside the conveyor belt and add parts to the car shell as it passed their station. By speeding up the manufacturing process Mr. Ford produced many more cars in the same time his competitors took to produce one car.
