In each group you will choose one
representative who will come infront and
remember the word that I’m going to show.
then, your going to run to the board and
write the word. The first group who can
guess the whole word are said to be the first

c. Explain
Now, our topic for today is all about
the island groups in the Philippines.

island?

water..

Now Philippines is composed of many
islands. Philippines is divided into three big
groups of islands.
And what are those three big islands?
Do you have an idea?

Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Luzon and Mindanao are made up of big
islands and some islets while Visayas is
made up of a few big islands and many
islets. Visayas is found between Luzon and
Mindanao.
Who can show to us if where is the

There are about 7107 islands that make
up the Philippines. Some are big, many are
small.
Again, How many islands?
(All) “ 7107 islands!”

So now, Luzon is the biggest group
among the three leading islands. The
provinces that found here are the Batanes,
Kalinga, Apayao, Abra, Ifugao, Benguet,
Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and many more.
Metro manila is also in Luzon. Point it on the
map, can someone point it on the map?
Next is Visayas, it is the smallest among
the three big groups of islands. Some of
islands are panay, Guimaras, Siquijor,
Samar, Leyte, Negros, Cebu and Bohol.
Last is the Mindanao, it is made up of a
big mass of land and a few islets. Those are
the Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur,
Agusan del Norte,North Cotabato, South
Cotabato, Bukidnon, Sultan Kudarat,
Maguindanao and many more..
Bodies of water are sources of different
kinds of fish and other sea resources. This
is good means of livelihood by fishermen.
Many shells and pearl are found off the
islands of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
Have you experienced taking a walk by the
seashore?
Its very relaxing right, because of its
