I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
1. Discuss the effectiveness of recycling to human and environment
2. Show appreciation for the importance of old and used materials
3. Produce new product from available materials

1. Preparation

 Good morning class


c. Checking of Attendance
 Is anyone absent today?

d. Motivation



Class let’s have a game. I have
here a jigsaw puzzle in the box. All
you need to do is to put the pieces
of puzzle in order. (The teacher will
show the box) This time, I need
five (5) volunteers who will play the
game. The first five (5) students
who will raise their right hand will
be given a chance to complete the
puzzle. At my signal the students
will start the game and they need
to finish it in two (2) minutes. Is
that clear class?
Now class, what have you noticed
about the picture in the jigsaw
puzzle?
Very, Good! And what do you call
to the conversion of old and used
materials into new products?


Excellent! Can you cite some
materials that can be recycled or
turned into new products?


materials that can be recycled are
glass, metal, plastic, paper, electronics,
etc


2. Lesson Proper
A. Activity
 Group Activity
Class, I will group you into three (3). Each
group will choose their leader. (The
teacher
will give a piece of manila paper and
pentel
pen to each group.) I will shoe a video
presentation about the benefits of
recycling.
After you watched the video, each group
will write at least five (5) benefits of
recycling; The leader of the group will
discuss the output of their activity in the
front of the class. Do I make myself clear?
B. Analysis
 Now class, the leaders of the group had
already discussed the different benefits
of recycling to us and to environment.
But we need to remember that old
materials can also be used as raw
materials for manufacturing. Is that clear
class?

Class in recycling we need to consider
the process of collecting the materials.
How do we collect the materials that can
be recycled?


can collect materials by bringing it to the
collection centers like junkshop or the
barangay waste management center.

Recycle turns materials that will
otherwise become waste into valuable
materials.

The benefits of recycling are, it provides
employment through livelihood projects,

 Now class, if you really understand our
lesson today, what do you mean by
recycling?

Correct! And what are the benefits of
recycling?
it reduces pollution and the needs for
landfills, helps save energy, it help
families save money, etc.
D. Application
 Class, I have here three (3) boxes of old
and used materials. The leader of each
group will choose their own boxes. All
you need to do is to turn the materials
into valuable resources. Is that clear
class?


leader of each group.)
