Commander's discretion to reduce flight deck workload.
Should a climb above transition altitude or a longer
holding be necessary, the Normal Checklist procedures
shall be used.

Prior to using this procedure, ensure that the area
to the rear is clear.

Preflight:
Primary altimeters…………………………CHECK
Indicated altitude shall be within 75 ft of aerodrome
elevation. Difference between Capt and F/O
altimeters 50 feet (or 60 feet at AD above 5000’)
Prior to entering RVSM airspace:
Recheck altimeter setting and cross-check primary
altimeters. Record on Operational Flight Plan when
Aircraft is stable at cleared RVSM level.
Inflight:
At approximately one hour intervals, cross-check
primary altimeters. Maximum difference 200 ft.
Use normal start procedure with crossbleed air.
Note: FL 280 is the highest usable non-RVSM level.
